Some places are drawn up on paper. Punkt XII grew differently: slowly, by hand, out of conviction. The beginning goes back to 1990 – a vision in the heart of the Steigerwald, in a place where people can find calm and come back to themselves.

The early photographs speak of hard work: an open roof frame, a trailer full of tiles, friends on the scaffolding. Stone by stone, beam by beam, an old Franconian farmstead became a house that today welcomes whole groups.
“Open your heart and be one with nature.”
From shell to retreat centre
In 2016 the grown place became the registered association Punkt XII e.V. Since then its development has been documented with activity reports and photographs – a life's work you can trace step by step. Today there are warm, terracotta-coloured houses with around 65 beds, several seminar rooms, winter gardens and a wellness area.
Those who arrive in the evening see the light first: golden windows in the dark forest. A promise of warmth, encounter and quiet – exactly what this place has stood for over three decades.
